Dump your Tedious Tasks
Now more than ever in the racing twenty first century, is time is a more valuable commodity than money? One of the fundamentals of life is that you spend an awful lot of time doing things that aren’t necessarily useful to you in the long run. When you could be doing far more productive things, the chores and tasks of everyday life take up too much time to allow you to concentrate on them.
One of the many ways in which you can waste huge amounts of time is on computers; this is contradictory, since they were created to save time. But even tasks like moving, saving and renaming files and folders can take a large amount of your time, and this has been the case ever since computers first existed. If you can get dump some of these tasks, you can instead work on your next business idea, spend more time with your friends and family or simply enjoy your hobbies.
If you have a big photo or music collection for example, a lot of time can be wasted because you will probably have to rename files quite a bit. You can’t totally dump this task, but you can make sure you spend minutes on it instead of hours when organising your collections. One of the problems right there is finding a batch file renaming program thats easy to use; so many of them are quite difficult to understand. How do you get the software that fits your needs?
With any software to batch rename files, you need to make sure that you can carry out the actions swiftly and easily. But you must also look for extended functionality, like the ability to add increasing and decreasing numbers and dates, if you want to maximise your investment. If you have or will restore files from backup at some point, then being able to clone or alter the created, modified and last accessed dates can be very handy. Bizarrely you’ll see that all of the files were created after they were modified; only a file renamer can copy the modified dates over to the created ones easily!
Of course the software should take plain text and add or remove it easily from the names, and try to make sure you can get a preview - if you rename a thousand files incorrectly and find the mistake all over your computer you won’t be very happy! And an essential part of any file renamer software is the ability to change either folder and file names, file extensions, or both at the same time. An even better solution would be one which renames thousands of files in thousands of folders at once!
So make sure that you search not just for great functionality in software to rename multiple files, but also ease of use; and enjoy the free time you gain in return.
